This Artwork is an actual OCCULT DEVICE that can be used for scrying.
The Black Mirror.
Mixed Media. Oil painting Ivan Boccherini. Metal work Maja Tokar.
Scrying is the practice of looking into a suitable medium to receive significant messages or visions. The objective might be personal guidance, prophecy, revelation, or inspiration.
In this case the medium is an actual real obsidian mirror in the centre of the piece, framed in copper.
For this mixed media I made the painting, while Maja designed and made the copper mirror frame and structure, the angel talisman made of silver and copper and the third eye with silver and garnet gemstone.
BLACK MIRROR is now owned by a collector.
So this is a piece that is not made only to hang on the wall but to be used according to its potential.
The obsidian mirror is made of real obsidian stone, it is very smooth and beautifully polished.
Obsidian is a naturally occurring volcanic glass formed when lava extruded from a volcano cools rapidly with minimal crystal growth.
One Famous Obsidian Mirror is the one once owned by Occultist of Queen Elizabeth the First, John Dee (1527-1608) that He used in his Enochian magic to summon angels and visions and that is now kept at the The British Museum in London.
